It is used for deep plowing. It works by breaking the soil and breaking up the hardened layers, allowing for better aeration and deep penetration of rainwater for improved fertility. Chisels are used effectively to loosen the soil in heavy soil conditions. Since chisels do not invert the soil, the decomposition of organic matter slows down, and moist soil remains undisturbed. The residue and plant debris left on the surface create a protective layer that prevents erosion and helps retain moisture within the soil structure.
